Isaac's Food Bank desperately need donations as demand soars.
ISAAC’S Food Bank has launched an
urgent plea for donations as current stock is falling short of soaring demand.
The vital resource, which is the brainchild of 11-year-old Isaac Winfield, desperately needs replenishing as more than 150 people visited their two sites last week.At the end of 2022, Isaac’s Food Bank, which is based on Throckmorton Road, Greenlands unveiled its second site, ‘Samuels Place’, on Batchley Road, Batchley to cope with increased demand.However, now shelves of both sheds are looking empty as more people are reaching out for help.
Claire-Louise Chapman, Isaac’s mum, said the number of visitors has increased with around 15 visitors per day at the Greenlands site and roughly six to seven visitors a day at their Batchley site.
“We are getting referrals from other charities now too as the professionals are so busy - it’s easier to send people to us,” said Claire.
“Isaac has been going into the shed in the morning and saying where has all the food gone?
“We are still getting donations, but people cannot afford to donate in the volume they used to.
“We have people coming from afar as well like Droitwich.”

ISAAC’S Food Bank in Redditch has received a haul of food thanks to a generous donation from Tesco.
The vital food bank has received £250 worth of food from the Tesco Extra store on Coldfield Drive to help people in the run-up to Christmas.
